Injuries have not been kind to the Florida Gators.

Head coach Billy Napier has had to maneuver without some of his best players in key games. Defensive tackle Caleb Banks only played for a short stint in the game against the LSU Tigers before re-injuring his foot. He isn’t the only defensive lineman with a foot injury, as edge rusher LJ McCray is also out with a similar injury.

They have gotten some of their players back from injury, including wide receiver Dallas Wilson, who had himself a historic debut on Saturday in a 29-21 win over the Texas Longhorns.

Florida Gators injury report shrinks, but gets worse

The final injury report heading into Saturday has 11 players on it, but there are now 10 players out.

Good news for the Gators is wide receiver Aidan Mizell is off the injury, as is defensive lineman Joseph Mbatchou. Mizell was a starter for the Gators this past weekend against the Longhorns, and is a talented speed receiver with excellent YAC stills to elevate this offense.

The good news for the Gators is they won’t have a defensive lineman out this week other than Banks and McCray. The ideal scenario is one or both of them return this season, but foot injuries that require surgery are often finicky, especially when you weigh over 300 lbs.

Saturday’s game is set to be a barnburner.
