The Florida Gators’ recruiting class in 2026 is filled with talented players. Head coach Jon Sumrall did a fantastic job of keeping Billy Napier‘s class together. Rivals has the Gators with the 13th-ranked class with 18 signees, and it ranks seventh in the SEC.

Head coach Jon Sumrall has done a fantastic job on the recruiting front, including only having two recruits flip in four-star running back Carsyn Baker to the Texas A&M Aggies and three-star tight end Kekua Aumua to the Washington Huskies. The crown jewel of the Gators’ class continues to show that he’s going to be a stud for years to come.

Davian Groce has massive game in Texas high school playoffs

The biggest coup in Sumrall’s recruiting class is four-star wide receiver Davian Groce. He has been compared by many to Percy Harvin, and continues to prove that.

Frisco Lone Star was down by 10 points with two minutes to go, and they leaned on Groce to get the job done. Not only are they heading to the Class 5A Division I state championship game next week, Groce had the performance of a lifetime.

He didn’t just dominate powerhouse Aledo; Groce caught 15 passes for 310 of quarterback Trey Wright’s 366 passing yards and four touchdowns, while also rushing for 21 yards on the day. Oh, and Groce came up huge by securing the onside kick to allow them the opportunity to score the game-winning touchdown.

“I feel like as soon as the fourth quarter came, we had the momentum, got that onside kick. I feel like we just allowed the momentum carry us to the win,” said Groce after the game.

This is exactly what the Gators could use this upcoming season to pair with Dallas Wilson and Vernell Brown III with DJ Lagway throwing them the ball.
