How to watch Florida Gators vs. Miami Hurricanes: Will an appearance on College Gameday spark Billy Napier and DJ Lagway?
It’s a pivotal game for the Florida Gators and Billy Napier
The Florida Gators are set to take on bitter rival Miami Hurricanes on Saturday night. They played well enough to win against the LSU Tigers, but five plays were the difference in the game, as those five plays were interceptions thrown by DJ Lagway in a 20-10 loss. The defense continues to play really well, but the offense is struggling, and it starts with head coach Billy Napier.
Going into the 2025 season, Napier was asked to give up play calling and hire a real offensive coordinator. Other coaches have done as such, and it’s worked really well. Take a look at the Florida State Seminoles. Mike Norvell hired Guz Malzahn to be his offensive coordinator, and they look like a top 10 team once again. Napier refused, and we are looking at the same issues on offense that have plagued this team.
The loss to LSU didn’t just have the interceptions from Lagway. There were issues with play calling, especially the lack of creativity on the gimme downs. It’s been a problem during the entirety of Napier’s tenure, and it doesn’t look to be going away anytime soon.
Saturday night brings another rivalry game for the Gators, this time facing the Hurricanes on the road, and ESPN’s College Gameday will be there. Here’s how you can watch the game.
