Jon Sumrall secures two more recruits for Florida Gators’ recruiting class, including one who was projected to flip to Big Ten powerhouse
The Florida Gators have the 13th-ranked 2026 recruiting class heading into the early signing day, and Jon Sumrall is securing the class.
The Florida Gators are approaching early signing day with 18 players still committed to the program for the next four years.
- Four-star WR Davian Groce
- Four-star CB C.J. Bronaugh
- Four-star EDGE K.J. Ford
- Four-star DT Kendall Guervil
- Four-star TE Heze Kent
- Four-star WR Marquez Daniel
- Four-star DL JaReylan McCoy
- Four-star WR Justin Williams
- Four-star LB Malik Morris
- Four-star S Kaiden Hall
- Four-star QB Will Griffin
- Four-star CB C.J. Hester
- Three-star OT Chancellor Campbell
- Three-star iOL Desmond Green
- Three-star iOL G’Nivre Carr
- Three-star TE Kekua Aumua
- Three-star OT Tyler Chukuyem
- Three-star OT Javarii Luckas
Within that group, head coach Jon Sumrall is still working on securing a couple of those commitments to get to signing day. What helps is that two of those have affirmed their intentions to sign on Wednesday.
Justin Williams and C.J. Bronaugh confirm they will sign with Gators
Even though Billy Napier was fired on October 19th, his coaching staff has done a wonderful job of keeping the class together. The only recruit who has decommitted is four-star running back Carsyn Baker, and he is still considering the Gators. It’s been a really impressive job by everyone involved.
There is still a lot of work to be done, but two recruits have reaffirmed their commitment with the Gators, with the main one being Bronaugh.
Bronaugh was at one point projected to flip to the Ohio State Buckeyes. The one interesting thing with his recruitment was the longer it went on, and that’s how it ended up happening. He’s one of two cornerbacks in the class with Hester, and the staff was very high on both players when they committed.
The other is the local guy in Williams, who is from Gainesville.
He’s a really talented player with the ability to play a Percy Harvin-type role on the offense. Earlier this year, Williams had a game with 115 rushing yards and 109 receiving yards. He can do a little bit of everything, which will pair well with the talents of Groce, who can do the same thing.
The Gators are still going to be working on trying to finish strong, including the potential of a top-10 class if things go their way. Sumrall knows what needs to be done and is planning on doing just that.
