The Florida Gators have concluded their spring practice with the Orange and Blue game where Blue defeated Orange by a score of 38-32.
Saturday's game was eye-opening for multiple reasons. The offense was without quarterback DJ Lagway, who is still recovering from a shoulder injury. The Gators did get good news about Lagway, though, as he's set to start throwing again in a couple of weeks.
Florida Gators honor national champions with record attendance
The offense really showed out, especially their prized wide receiver recruit Dallas Wilson. He didn't just have a great debut with the Gators, it was historic. He set a spring game record with 10 interceptions and tied the record with 195 receiving yards, but Wilson had two touchdowns and looked the part of a superstar receiver.
There were some other impressive performances, including redshirt senior Ja'Kobi Jackson with a majorly impressive 19.8 yards per carry average across 10 carries. The Gators also had their best attendance at the spring game since Tim Tebow was on campus with an interesting number.
The Gators didn't just have a great attendance, but for it to end 65-63, the same score the Gators men's basketball team beat Houston with in the National Championship Game, was next level.
Of course, the football team honored Walter Clayton Jr. and the basketball team at halftime and they hopped a flight to take in the UFC 314 card down in Miami.
Needless to say, it's great to be a Florida Gator.
