Florida State Seminoles now have a shot to prove to one of the best quarterbacks in the 2026 class why he should go to FSU

The Florida State Seminoles are trying to turn that horrendous 2024 season into what they did in 2023, where they went undefeated. With the new 12-team playoff format, the Noles have a huge chance of getting in now compared to last time. If they can just win the ACC, yes it sounds harder than what it really is, but if the ACC is a weaker conference than say the SEC or Big 12, then they will get in the playoffs.
But, to turn around this program, is easier said than done. The Seminoles will have to lean heavily on their recruiting in the next few years, especially in 2026.
Luckily for them, they are starting out on the right track for 2026. They are currently sitting at No. 12 in the On3 2026 class rankings, just behind schools like Georgia, Notre Dame, and Ohio State, who are one, two, and three spots ahead of them. They only have six players committed but are looking to add more very soon.
In fact, pretty soon they will have a chance at showing one of the best QBs in the country for 2026, why he should go to FSU.
Seminoles have official visit with QB Landon Duckworth scheduled
Landon Duckworth is a top quarterback prospect from the class of 2026, coming out of Jackson, Alabama. He's 6'3" and weighs about 195 pounds, known for being a dual-threat quarterback who can both pass and run effectively. At Jackson High School, he has put up strong numbers, throwing for over 3,000 yards and 34 touchdowns in a season, while also rushing for more than 600 yards and 12 touchdowns. He's also a talented basketball player.
Duckworth committed to South Carolina in August 2023 but later decommitted in June 2024, opening up his recruitment again. Since then, schools like Texas A&M, Oregon, UCF, and Auburn have shown interest, with Auburn recently offering him a scholarship.
Recruiting sites like 247Sports and On3 rate him as a four-star prospect, and some even rank him as the No. 1 dual-threat quarterback in the country. UCF is currently a popular prediction for where he might end up, but his recruitment is still wide open. With his strong arm, ability to run, and leadership, Duckworth is a prime target for college football programs looking for a dynamic quarterback to build around.
