It wasn't too long ago that the Georgia Bulldogs were snubbed out of the new 12-team field College Football Playoff picture after losing to Ole Miss.
But now after beating the Texas Longhorns in the SEC Championship on Saturday, Georgia officially enters the 2024 College Football Playoff as the No. 2 seed.

That means the Bulldogs earned themselves a first-round bye and will be well-rested before they face their next opponent on Jan. 1 in the Sugar Bowl.
Who they play next will come down to who wins next week's game between No. 10 Indiana and No. 7 Notre Dame.
That brings us to the semifinals. If Georgia moves on they will either face No. 3 seed Boise State, No. 6 Penn State, or No. 11 SMU.
And if they make it to the National Championship, Georgia could face the following teams depending on how the next two weeks play out: No. 1 Oregon, No. 4 Arizona State, No. 8 Ohio State, No. 9 Tennessee, No. 5 Texas, or No. 12 Clemson.
Yes, that means Georgia could play Texas for the third time this season.
And right now, Georgia (+360) and Texas (+360) happen to have the best odds to make it to the College Football Championship, per FanDuel.
But no matter who Georgia ends up facing next and beyond, they have a very winnable path to the championship.
