The date and time for the annual "Clean Old, Fashioned Hate" game between the Georgia Bulldogs and Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets has been set.
Ross Dellenger of Yahoo Sports reports the rivalry game, which dates back to 1893, will kick off on Black Friday in primetime (7:30 p.m. ET) on ABC.
That means fans will have time to shop the Black Friday sales before turning their attention to some good, old-fashioned football. That's the best of both worlds if you ask me.
The game will be played Between the Hedges in Athens where Georgia will look to build on their current six-game victory streak and 71-41-5 all-time edge against the Yellow Jackets.
Brent Key Out to Beat Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs
Brent Key, who enters his second full season as Georgia Tech's head football coach, has been on a mission to beat the Bulldogs since he was hired in 2022.
"We have an opponent in this state that we will work 365 days a year to defeat," Key said following his first loss to the Bulldogs. "We will work 365 days a year to dominate. When we all wake up in the morning, our goal is to dominate our opponent. The feeling of dominating your opponent is like no other. And whatever team is on our schedule, that is our goal. That is what we will work towards every single day. Players that are in here, understand that. That is our goal. That is our mindset. And we have an opponent in our state that's included in that. For 365 days, we will work to dominate that opponent. Understand that."
The Yellow Jackets were blown away, 37-14, by Kirby Smart's Bulldogs that year, but stepped things up in 2023, losing by less than two touchdowns, 31-23.
Perhaps Key and his Yellow Jackets come closer to beating Georgia this year after spending the offseason shaking up their coaching staff and bolstering their defense.
But you can bet that the newest highest-paid college football coach will have his Dawgs go anything but easy on them.
