The Georgia Bulldogs have unfortunately become known best for one thing when it comes to off-field activity: driving-related arrests and charges. Since January of 2023 following the national championship win for Kirby Smart and company Georgia has seen their players commit more than 30 driving-related incidents.

Everything from speeding, reckless driving, drinking-related charges behind the wheel, and more, Georgia players have done it far too often throughout the last 2-3 years. Regardless of how many times Kirby Smart takes action, this problem just simply won't go away. Now it's apparently seeping into their recruiting ranks too.

Chace Calicut arrested on serious violent driving charges

Chace Calicut, a high four star (top 150 overall) recruit from the state of Texas, is an incredibly important piece of the Georgia Bulldogs' 2026 recruiting class. He's the typical long-armed, tall, physical force of a cornerback that coach Smart loves to line up outside and win against touch perimeter wide receivers. Calicut was potentially in line to plug and play with significant snaps for 2026.

However, that might not be the case anymore following his arrest on Tuesday. Calicut was arrested for a "violent driving incident" according to multiple sources in the Houston, Texas area. While the Georgia driving arrest problem has become somewhat of a running joke, this was no ordinary driving incident. It's one that should not be taken lightly whatsoever based on the latest reporting.

Calicut and his friend Isaiah Phillip were both charged with "aggravated assault with a deadly weapon" following the incident involving some classmates that the arrested duo knew from their school.

Calicut's vehicle apparently drove up directly behind that of his classmates, zoomed past the other vehicle involved, and then brake checked violently forcing the other vehicle to swerve in order to avoid a wreck.

That would have been dangerous enough without further issue, but the foolish activity did not stop there.

The other vehicle attempted to completely avoid any further confrontation, but Calicut's vehicle allegedly continued pursuit, pulled alongside the other vehicle, then "several gunshots" were heard.

We are still awaiting further details and reporting on this situation, so for now no more information will be discussed in this particular article until more facts are verified, but this situation does not look good.

If all the reported facts are found to be true and charges hold, Georgia fans may expect some news to result in regards to Calicut's future with the team (and college football at all).
