Versatile linebacker and edge rusher Jalon Walker could end up reuniting with fellow Georgia Bulldogs star Brock Bowers at the next level.
According to several reports the Las Vegas Raiders met with Walker this month for a Top 30 visit ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft.
The Raiders, who pick at No. 6 overall, appear to be emphasizing a defense-first approach heading into the draft after being hit hard with losses in NFL free agency. Walker's versatility aligns well with the team's direction as his ability to play both edge rusher and off-ball linebacker would offer the Raiders flexibility in their defensive schemes .
Walker was a standout performer for the Bullodgs in 2024, earning the Butkus Award, which is a prestigious accolade given annually to the nation's best linebacker. He finished his junior and final season with the Bulldogs, racking up 58 tackles, 6.5 sacks, and two fumble recoveries.
Georgia runs a tight knit program under head coach Kirby Smart and Walker would be more than thrilled to join Bowers in Vegas.
Bowers, who went 13th overall to the Raiders in 2024, spent a lot of time with Walker riding back and forth to class together during their time in Athens. That's when Walker was able to learn about the kind of person Bowers was off of the football field, which is something that he has always admired about him.
"Brock and, I mean, crazy enough, me and Brock had class together," Walker said at the NFL Combine in February. "I would drive me and him or [he would] drive back to the facility together. I mean, he's a great guy, a great individual, just not on the football field but as a person."
