A pool of Georgia Bulldogs fans entered the offseason with hopes that head coach Kirby Smart would be moving on from offensive coordinator Mike Bobo.

However, that won't be happening.

In fact, Georgia already had plans to keep Bobo on staff no matter the outcome of the 2024 college football season.

According to Athens Banner-Herald's Marc Weiszer, Bobo greed to a one-year contract extension before the start of the 2024 season, which means he will indeed be sticking around through 2026.

Bobo also gets a bigger paycheck. Per Weiszer, Bobo's current salary of $1.403 million will increase to $1.503 million on July 1 and then go up once again to $1.603 million on July 1, 2026.

Bobo, who will enter his third year in his second stint as Georgia's OC this upcoming fall, earned the deal following an impressive 2023 calling the offense.

That season, the Bulldogs averaged 40.1 points (5th) and 305.3 passing yards per game (14th). They also led all of college football in third-down conversion rate (55.15%). No. 6 Georgia finished the season 13-1 and topped it off with a 63-3 Orange Bowl victory over No. 5 Florida State.

Those numbers looked a bit different this past year.

Georgia last season averaged 31.5 points per game (38th) and 281 passing yards per game (21st). The Bulldogs also dropped 36 passes, which was more than any other SEC team. Despite the dip in production, Georgia pulled off an SEC championship victory over Texas and made it to the quarterfinals of the 12-team College Football Playoffs, where they fell 23-10 to No. 5 Notre Dame.

Bobo will now be tasked with helping redshirt sophomore Gunner Stockton or redshirt freshman Ryan Puglisi take over the starting quarterback job.

And fans will be critiquing his every move.
