The Georgia Bulldogs are down one of their weapons from their recruiting class of 2026.
According to On3's Hayes Fawcett, four-star wide receiver Vance Spafford has decided to flip his commitment from the Dawgs to the Miami Hurricanes.
"BREAKING: Four-Star WR Vance Spafford has Flipped his Commitment from Georgia to Miami, he tells me for @on3recruits. The 5’11 180 WR had been committed to the Bulldogs since November," Hayes reported via X/Twitter on Monday.
Spafford is the No. 85 overall prospect and No. 14 wide receiver in the 2026 recruiting cycle per the On3 Industry rankings.
Over the past two seasons at Mission Viejo High School in California, he’s racked up 2,593 receiving yards and 36 touchdowns, including a standout junior year with 57 catches for 1,017 yards and 14 scores.
He'll join former Georgia quarterback Carson Beck in Miami.
According to A to Z Sports' Travis May, the move doesn’t come as much of a surprise given how many Power Five programs were pursuing him.
"Vance Spafford has been committed to Georgia since last fall, but that didn't stop the blue bloods from chasing after him," May said. "He logged another dozen offers after his commitment date, then took an unofficial visit with Miami in April, which led some to believe he may be less than fully committed. Georgia still has a couple of other speedsters to lean on in their 2026 class, but losing Spafford is a bummer given his high pedigree and versatility."
With Spafford out of the picture, Georgia has just four-star Ryan Mosely and three-star Brady Marchese committed for 2026.
