Georgia Bulldogs lose race for popular in-state quarterback to Clemson Tigers

Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs have been on a recruiting hot streak lately, but they can't win them all.
According to Hayes Fawcett, in-state four-star quarterback Kharim Hugley from the class of 2027 has committed to the Clemson Tigers over the Bulldogs.
"BREAKING: Four-Star QB Kharim Hughley (2027) has Committed to Clemson, he tells me for @rivals. The 6’0 200 QB Gainesville, GA chose the Tigers over Illinois, Georgia, & Florida," Fawcett wrote on X/Twitter.
Hughley is currently rated as No. 27 overall prospect in the state of Georgia and the No. 13 quarterback nationally from the class of 2027. During his sophomore season last fall as a starter at Gainesville High School, he completed 60 percent of his passes for 2,543 yards and 22 touchdowns to just two interceptions.
Georgia has a ton of offers on the table for their class of 2027, but just two commits in three-star wide receiver Gavin Honore and four-star cornerback Donte Wright.
The good news is that there is still plenty of time for coach Smart and the Dawgs to flip Hugley's decision between now and next summer.
