The Georgia Bulldogs now know who they will play in the quarterfinals of the 2024 College Football Playoff.

The Dawgs will officially take on Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl after the Fighting Irish ripped through the Indiana Hoosiers on Friday night in South Bend, beating them 27-17.

Georgia and Notre Dame have faced off just three times in college football history, but have yet to lose the Irish. In fact, this matchup will mark the second time they've met in the postseason in the same Sugar Bowl with the last time being in 1980 when the Bulldogs won 17-10.

The other two times they played each other happened during the regular season in 2017 and 2019.

The Sugar Bowl kicks off on Jan. 1 at 8:45 p.m. ET at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, LA. The winner of the Sugar Bowl will advance to the semifinals and play in the Captial One Orange Bowl.

Georgia will be without starting quarterback Carson Beck, which means backup Gunner Stockton's first career college start will come against Notre Dame.
