Kirby Smart's Georgia Bulldogs' (7-2) path to the College Football Playoffs just got a bit complicated after their Week 11 loss to Ole Miss.
The second College Football Playoff rankings dropped on Tuesday and they have the Bulldogs seeded at No. 12. That means Georgia would hypothetically be out of the playoff race if it kicked off today. Thankfully, it doesn't.
The Bulldogs still have a chance to turn things around with a win over the Tennessee Volunteers on Saturday night in Athens.
Here are three other matchups from this weekend that Georgia fans should keep their eye on as the Bulldogs look to play in their first-ever 12-team College Football Playoffs.
No. 3 Texas vs Arkansas
Rooting Interest: Texas just needs to keep winning for Georgia
Another Texas (8-1) win would help make Georgia's case to move back up in the playoff rankings, considering the Longhorns' only loss this season came against the Bulldogs.
Texas winning this week should not be too hard against Arkansas (5-4) which has struggled against several top-ranked opponents, most recently losing to Ole Mis 63-31.
Virginia vs No. 8 Notre Dame
Rooting Interest: Hokies upset Notre Dame in South Bend
This game doesn't have a major pull on Georgia's playoff future. However, if Virginia (5-4) upsets the Fighting Irish (8-1) and the Bulldogs win, then Notre Dame could find themselves falling out of the Top 10 while Georgia moves up.
Notre Dame is known for losing when it matters the most. Their only loss this season came against a nobody school (NIU) which makes it even crazier that they're ranked so high.
No. 20 Clemson vs Pittsburgh
Rooting Interest: Clemons keeps winning to make Georgia look good
This matchup is similar to Texas vs. Arkansas.
Georgia beat Clemson (7-2) at the beginning of the year. If the Tigers can take down a solid Pittsburgh (7-2) team, that will only help prove to the College Football Playoff Committee just how hard the Bulldogs' schedule was this season.
Again, it should be doable since the Panthers could be without starting quarterback Eli Holstein.
Kirby Smart’s Georgia Bulldogs should be pissed off heading into Week 12 vs Tennessee
This is your warning, Tennessee.
