The Georgia Bulldogs are going to be down a starting linebacker when they travel to Austin, TX to face the Longhorns.

According to Rusty Mansell of Dawgs HQ, inside linebacker Smael Mondon will miss his third game this season with a foot injury.

Mondon's absence is a big loss for the Dawgs as he has racked up 17 tackles, including four for a loss, and half a sack through four games so far this season.

In addition to Mondon, Georgia will also be without running backs Roderick Robinson (toe) and Branson Robinson (MCL), and starting right guard Tate Ratledge (ankle).

Head coach Kirby Smart provided brief updates on some of the Bulldogs' injuries during this week's press conference.

Running back Chauncey Bowens, who did not dress against Mississippi State with an undisclosed injury, sounds like he will be ready to go against Texas. That's good news for a banged-up Georgia backfield.

“He’s fine. He’s practicing,” Smart said. “He had a little injury he was dealing with last week but he’s been practicing all this week.”

Smart noted that defensive lineman Jordan Hall is trending in the right direction after starting the season sidelined with two leg injuries. If he is available on Saturday, don't expect him to take many reps.

“Jordan’s done more than he has the last two weeks,” Smart said. “He’s been out there repping, taking reps with us, and getting better. Jordan’s been a long, hard process. And he’s having to get comfortable with the pain that he has. And it jumps up and bites him at times when you never know, it might just hit him on a rep. That’s kept him from taking the rep load he’d like to take.”

Georgia has also been without their starting center Jared Wilson (foot) for two games, but backup Drew Bobo has filled the role well in his absence. Smart had said after the Auburn win that Wilson could have played as an emergency backup if needed.

“Jared’s been practicing. Seems to be doing more the last two days than he has in previous weeks,” Smart said. “That’s good, and he repped out there today.”

The Bulldogs kick off against the Longhorns at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.
