Georgia Bulldogs redshirt sophomore running back Branson Robinson left Saturday's 41-31 win over Mississippi State early in the first half after going down with a right knee injury.

Robinson did not return and finished the day with three carries for 12 yards and a touchdown. He also made a five-yard catch.

Following the game, head coach Kirby Smart shared a brief update on Robinson, though he could not provide just how serious of an injury it might be.

“I don’t know that it’s real serious," Smart said. "I think it’s an MCL, a knee, a sprain. I don’t know how serious it was because we don’t have the MRI results yet.”

While he did not return to the game, Robinson did return to the sidelines wearing a knee brace.

Unfortunately, this is not Robinson's first injury as he missed the 2023 season with a knee injury after rupturing his patella tendon.

Because of that, this season has been all about getting back to his "old self," so big or small, this injury marks another setback for him.

“Branson works really hard," Smart said after Robinson rushed in his first TD of the season in Week 2 vs. Tennessee Tech. "Branson’s a good back. He’s still coming back to his old self. … He’s a great back, man. He’s just got to get back to full strength.”

Through five games so far, Robinson has logged 61 yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries.

If Robinson is unavailable for Georgia's game against No. 1 Texas next week, the Bulldogs will rely on starter Tevor Etienne, true freshman Nate Frazier, and redshirt junior Cash Jones.
