Georgia star freshman running back imitating Nick Chubb in more ways than one in impressive debut against Clemson

The Georgia Bulldogs have long been one of the great (if not greatest) running back factories in the sport of college football. From the glory days of Garrison Hearst and Terrell Davis to Todd Gurley and Nick Chubb, the Bulldogs have seen far more than their fair share of unbelievable running back talents. And after Georgia's Week 1 splattering of Clemson it looks like they might have their next great one.
Nate Frazier, a fringe five star running back prospect fresh out of the storied Mater Dei high school program in Santa Ana, California was thrust into early action this week due to some injuries in the Georgia backfield and looked impressive right away. Not only that, but he did his best to imitate the great Nick Chubb in more ways than one in his debut vs. Clemson.
For starters, just watch this highlight run in my post below. Just like Nick Chubb when he was a true freshman at Georgia, Frazier runs and jukes with a choppy, aggressive, ferocity that make its tough for defenders to take the right angles and bring him to the ground.
But it isn't just style that Frazier seems to imitate when it comes to one of the greatest Georgia running backs in history. Avid Georgia fans will remember that Nick Chubb's first career game also came against Clemson. And just like Frazier did on Saturday, Chubb thrashed them for an impressive first career touchdown.
Chubb may have only touched the ball four times in that debut against Clemson, but he made them pay, showcasing the immense potential he went on to feature over the next four years at Georgia. And unfortunately, just like Frazier, Chubb was forced into an expanded role that true freshman season due to an injury to fellow star running back Todd Gurley.
Hopefully the Georgia running back room around Frazier bounces back healthy throughout the rest of this season, but it's good to know that he looks ready to feature if called upon. Frazier's debut was actually even more impressive than Nick Chubb's was when you look at the complete game. Frazier finished with 12 total touches for over 100 total yards from scrimmage, making Clemson defenders look like they were standing still at times.
He may not quite be Nick Chubb just yet (almost no one can come close), but Nate Frazier is off to an incredible start that suggests he'll likely continue the longstanding legacy of elite Georgia running backs dominating the sport.
