Georgia Bulldogs senior wide receiver Colbie Young was arrested early Tuesday morning on misdemeanor charges of battery and assault on an unborn child.

Young was booked at 4:18 AM with a bond set at $2,500.

If this goes the way that Rara Thomas' battery arrest went back in July, then Young could be suspended and/or kicked off the team.

It's Your Time, London Humphreys

In the meantime, it's for sophomore transfer wide receiver London Humpreys to step up ASAP as the guy to replace Young's production.

Humphreys, a 6-foot-2, 197-pound transfer from Vanderbilt, made a big impact in Week 1's win over Clemson where he hauled in two catches for 63 yards and a touchdown.

He wasn't targeted after that and then missed the team's loss to Alabama due to a case of mono. Humphreys returned in Week 6 against the Auburn Tigers where he saw more opportunities and logged two solid catches for 40 yards.

Humpreys was probable leading up to Georgia's win over Auburn, so his return was a nice surprise, according to Smart.

“Oh, it was awesome," Smart said. "I mean, that was crazy to be where, I mean, I didn’t know how long it was gonna be, and then I get a call that he can play. I’m like, what? Like, we thought it was gonna be a couple weeks, and then he didn’t even practice — I guess, I don’t know what day it was, Monday, Tuesday. I don’t know. I forget what day he even got cleared, but I mean, he just goes out there, gets back to working. He’s so solid, he’s so reliable, and jumped right back in and did a good job.”

The young receiver currently ranks fourth on the team among all pass catchers with four receptions for 103 yards and a score.

Before joining the Dawgs, Humphreys reeled in 22 catches for 439 yards and four touchdowns for the Commodores in 2023.

Georgia has yet to comment on Young's arrest, however, Smart is set to speak to the media on Tuesday evening.
