Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs will officially know if they have won the battle for five-star quarterback Jared Curtis on Monday, May 5.

According to On3's Jeremy Johnson, that is when Curtis will make his final decision between committing to Georgia or the Oregon Ducks.

He spent a long weekend in Athens last week for an unofficial visit. Per his mother, Barbara Curtis, things went very well.

“It was great to fellowship with the coaches and staff,” Mrs Curtis told On3’s Steve Wiltfrong following the visit. “We learned more about the school and program. Our relationship deepened and I appreciate all they did to ensure our visit went well!”

Curtis is the No. 3 overall prospect in On3's 2026 Class Rankings, No. 1 at the quarterback position, and No. 1 in his state.

The 6-foot-4, 220-pound rising senior led his Nashville high school football team to a 13-1 record and a state title after completing 70 percent of his passes for 2,830 yards with 40 touchdowns and three interceptions during the 2024 regular season. He also added another 637 yards and 18 scores on the ground. Curtis was named the 2024 Gatorade Tennessee Football Player of the Year for his outstanding efforts.

Curtis had originally committed to Georgia but chose to explore other options back in October, making the Bulldogs work extra hard for the nation's best 2026 quarterback.

"This morning I spoke with Coach (Kirby) Smart and Coach (Mike) Bobo and let them know that I still love Georgia, but would like to take some more time to explore all my options so I can make the best, most informed decision for my future," Curtis said when he decommitted last fall. "I let them know it just doesn't seem right or fair to stay committed while checking out other programs. People to know where I stand and I've learned that making big decisions takes time."

Before ultimately narrowing his choices down to the Ducks and Bulldogs, Curtis was also considering Auburn, Alabama, Ohio State, and South Carolina.

He expected to visit the Bulldogs for their annual G-Day spring scrimmage game on April 12. Even after he announces his decision, Curtis plans to take official trips to Oregon on June 6 and UGA on June 13.
