The Georgia Bulldogs won yet another huge victory on Saturday as they defeated the Texas Longhorns 35-10, but that wasn’t their only win over the weekend. Kirby Smart and company continue to dominate on the recruiting trail this fall as well. Now they just landed perhaps their most important talent yet.

Five star QB recruit Jayden Wade, the top quarterback in the entire 2028 recruiting class shared on Sunday that he will be committing to the Georgia Bulldogs and Kirby Smart. How big of win is this? Believe it or not, this kind of recruiting win sets up Georgia to compete for and win national titles perhaps through 2030 and beyond.

Key Facts on 2028 QB Recruit Jayden Wade

  • Jayden Wade is a five star QB recruit playing his high school football at the prestigious IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida
  • Wade has nearly 30 scholarship offers from FBS programs as one of the most highly coveted recruiting targets in the country
  • Wade has been earning varsity snaps since he was an 8th grader at IMG Academy
  • He led IMG to a 9-0 record with him at the helm this fall throwing 20 touchdowns to just two interceptions

For those unfamiliar, Jayden Wade has been considered the most likely QB1 in the 2028 class for multiple years now. He’s the ultimate QB camp and academy kid who has been on track for the NFL since the 8th grade (and even before that). Wade was already seeing some varsity snaps for IMG Academy (the best high school football program in the nation by far) as an 8th grader. Since then he’s grown into the most dominant QB recruit in the country, shredding top national competition that IMG Academy always intentionally schedules for themselves.

Jayden Wade made his commitment official on Sunday saying, “G on my chest, Dawg in my heart.” Wade chose Georgia over nearly 30 other FBS programs, including top blue bloods like Ohio State, Oregon, Texas, Texas A&M, Michigan, and more.

Thanks to this massive recruiting win (if they can keep him committed), Georgia is seriously set at quarterback for several years to come. They have already had the number one QB1 in the nation for 2026 locked up for quite some timein Jared Curts from Nashville Christian in Nashville, Tennessee. Curtis should push to start as early as next year (if Gunner Stockton leaves for the NFL), and certainly no later than 2027. When Curtis is done likely winning at least one championship with Georgia, then Kirby Smart will have another elite five star talent to turn to in Jayden Wade.

In an era where it’s becoming more and more difficult to win and keep several blue chip game-changing recruits, Kirby Smart and his staff just continue winning both on and off the field with huge talent acquisitions. Georgia fans should be pumped knowing that not only do they have a College Football Playoff contending team now, but it looks like that is going to be the case for many years to come.
