Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs are adding an impressive young mind to their coaching staff.
According to Football Scoop, Georgia is hiring former Samford quarterback Ty Hatcher as an offensive quality control analyst.
Hatcher, 25, comes to Athens with an impressive resume having previously coached at Alabama under Nick Saban, Texas A&M under Bobby Petrino and Jimbo Fisher, and Oklahoma under Brent Venables.
He is also a familiar face since his father, Chris Hatcher, gave Smart his first coaching opportunity at Valdosta State.
“I learned a lot while I worked at Valdosta State. You only learn trial by fire, and I certainly appreciate Coach Hatcher for giving me that opportunity,” Smart said in an interview back in 2022.
Smart is now paying it forward, but the difference is that Hatcher is joining the Bulldogs with a lot "trial by fire" experience under his belt already.
Hatcher's background is at the quarterback position, which makes a lot of sense considering he played QB himself.
He joins Montgomery VanGorder and Brandon Streeter, who are Georgia's other offensive quality control analysts currently on the staff.
