Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs are currently battling the Oregon Ducks to land 2026 five-star quarterback Jared Curtis, but if that doesn't work out, then their contingency plan just might.

According to On3's Hayes Fawcett, the Georgia Bulldogs are one of three schools that 2026 four-star quarterback Bowe Bentley is considering.

On3 has Bentely ranked as the No. 47 overall recruit, No. 5 signal-caller, and No. 4 recruit in the state of Texas.

Bentley, 6-foot-2 and 200 pounds, led Celina High School to a 16-0 record en route to a Texas state title. He finished throwing for 3,330 yards passing and 47 touchdowns, completing 70 percent of his throws. He added another 933 yards rushing and 16 more scores.

There is no off-season for Bentley, who also plays soccer and lacrosse for Celina High.

Bentley received an official offer from Smart and the University of Georgia back in February and spoke highly of his most recent trip to Athens.

“Georgia was as good of a visit as any of them – and their practice was the best I saw on the trip,” Bentley told On3’s Steve Wiltfong earlier this month. “Had a great conversation with Coach Smart. Love his intensity and his competitiveness is like mine.”

He will visit Athens again on March 20 and is slated for a long weekend visit this summer from June 6-8.

Bentley also has the Oklahoma Sooners and the LSU Tigers on his radar. He is slated for a long weekend in Oklahoma from June 13-15 and at LSU from June 20-22.

It's very possible that the Bulldogs could land both Bentley and Curtis since they are projected to be more competitive in the NIL space when it comes to their 2026 recruiting cycle.
