The Georgia Bulldogs are a little banged up heading into Week 2 against Tennessee Tech, but head coach Kirby Smart remains optimistic.

Starting edge rusher Mykel Williams suffered a Grade 2 left ankle sprain in the Bulldogs' win over the Clemson Tigers and is questionable to play vs. the Golden Eagles, though his injury should be temporary.

"It's stable. He's week-to-week," Smart said. "He's questionable for this week, but it's not long term."

That's not the only injury the Dawgs are dealing with to their defensive line as Warren Brinson also left Saturday's win due to an ankle issue. Brinson should be good to go this week.

“Warren (Brinson) did some things, was out there, moved around pretty good. I would say that Joenel’s ahead of Warren, but Warren’s got a shot,” Smart said.

Additionally on the d-line, defensive tackles Xzavier McLeod (abdominal strain) and Jordan Hall (tibia stress fracture) missed the Clemson game, but both are trending in the right direction.

“They were running today, flying around, sideline running, not practicing, but running, straight line, cutting,” Smart said of Hall and McLeod. “I’m fired up. I mean, Sunday or Monday, I looked out my office and Jordan was out there smoking it across the field, and excited. He was up at 5:30 in the morning, game day, rehabbing on his own, beat Ron (Courson) in there, riding a bike in Atlanta. I mean, he is a different dude when it comes to rehab. He has attacked it and dove all in.”

Smarted did add that Hall is further along than McLeod.

“I think he’s probably a little ahead of McLeod because he’s dealing with different muscle tissue-type injury,” Smart added. “He also hasn’t really ever had a significant injury. But they’re both pushing.”

Also on defense, starting STAR defender Joenel Aguero, missed Week 1 with a pulled muscle. He should be available this week.

“Yeah, it’s a soft tissue injury. Joenel practiced and did everything. I wouldn’t say he was 100%, but he practiced and did everything,” Smart said.

On offense, wide receiver Dillon Bell is fine after leaving the Clemson game due to a leg cramp and running back Roderick Robinson is still making his way back following surgery on his toe.
