Georgia Bulldogs starting center Drew Bobo left Saturday’s 42-21 win over Mississippi State with an undisclosed injury during the fourth quarter.

After the game, Smart was asked about Bobo’s injury after the win and revealed that his injury wasn’t anything too serious.

“He’s (Bobo) got a laceration of some kind on his snapping hand. It was a cut open, and they were going to have to pad it, but he couldn’t snap if he padded it,” Smart said. “They were going to have to suture it, and I don’t think they got it sutured in time to get him back.”

Offensive lineman Malachai Toliver replaced Bobo for the rest of the game and did a great job, but Bobo dodging a serious injury is a huge sigh of relief since Georgia is getting ready to welcome the No. 10 Texas Longhorns to Sanford Stadium this weekend.

Georgia Bulldogs open as favorites over Texas Longhorns

After an easier matchup vs. the Maroon Bulldogs, Georgia will waste no time preparing for a much tougher game against the Longhorns.

In fact, the Longhorns were on coach Smart’s mind when he woke up to face Mississippi State on Saturday.

“I don’t control it,” Smart said of immediately turning the page to Texas. “I mean, how can I turn the page faster than turning the page? I mean, I couldn’t turn it before we played this game. I can only turn it afterwards. It is what it is. I texted with Sark today about the drive we had over here. I was like, this drive is an hour and five minutes. I couldn’t believe it. I mean, they had the same thing.”

Georgia opens the week as a 6.5-point favorite over Texas.

Saturday night’s meeting be the first matchup between the two teams since their thrilling battle in last year’s SEC Championship Game, when quarterback Gunner Stockton replaced an injured Carson Beck and led the Bulldogs to a tight 22-19 win. The victory not only delivered another conference title for Georgia but also gave the team some clarity on Stockton as a dependable future QB1.
