The Georgia Bulldogs wrapped up spring ball over the weekend following their annual G-Day scrimmage.

It was the first time that fans were able to catch a glimpse of transfer wide receivers Zachariah Branch (USC) and Noah Thomas (Texas A&M). 

Neither receiver did anything too notable, though Branch did haul in a 36-yard catch that ultimately set up a touchdown. Meanwhile, Thomas left the scrimmage early with an ankle sprain

Following G-Day, coach Smart gave an honest update about the two and how they have been adjusting to Georgia's offense throughout the spring. Smart even went as far to say that Branch had been battling injuries himself. 

"They're learning the offense. I mean, kind of what I mentioned with those six or seven there, they're in that number of guys that have to continue to grow and understand," Smart said. "Zach missed two or three practices that probably hurt him in terms of getting reps and understanding the offense. You can't just say, 'I'm going to learn it and go out there and do it. You have to rep it. You gotta go out there and physically do it, and he missed, I think, two of the last three practices or three of the last four practices and then was able to go today." 

Branch began his college career at the University of Southern California (USC) in 2023. As a true freshman, he made an immediate impact, earning multiple All-American honors as a return specialist. Notably, he became USC's first-ever true freshman First Team All-American In January 2025, Branch transferred to the University of Georgia, joining the Bulldogs alongside his brother, Zion Branch, a defensive back.

As for Thomas, he began his career with the Texas A&M Aggies in 2022 before transferring to Georgia in January. He led Texas &M last season with with 39 catches for 574 yards and eight touchdowns. Standing 6 feet 5 inches tall and weighing 205 pounds, Thomas brings significant size and experience to the 

While there is still a lot of work to be done, Branch and Thomas have plenty of time to get more snaps and and comfortable with the offense during summer and fall camp.
