The race for the best quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft class is largely expected to come down between Georgia's Carson Beck and Texas' Quinn Ewers. 

Several are split as to just who QB1 will be, but it seems that Kirby Smart's signal-caller is most favored to be top dog in the preseason. One of the most recent to call him just that is ESPN analyst and former Alabama quarterback Greg McElroy.

He had Ewers directly behind him, followed by Shedeur Sanders (Colorado), Dillon Gabriel (Oregon) and Jalen Milroe (Alabama). 

Beck demanded attention in his first year as Georgia's starting quarterback, finishing out the season with over a 72% completion rate, passing for 3,941 yards with a 24-to-6 touchdown-to-interception ratio. His mobility and improvisation ability was also well on display and he rushed for for 116 yards and 4 touchdowns.

"They didn't really let him go in the first four or five games of the year," McElroy said of Beck. "It wasn't until the Kentucky game when they really took the reins off and let Carson (Beck) go be the man. And he was down the stretch and got better and better and better… I think you can expect to see an (even more) improved Carson Beck in 2024."

Beck will look to continue to expand upon what he does best in 2024, with Georgia looking to make its return to the national championship stage after being snubbed from the College Football Playoff.
