Notre Dame football came out of the first half needing a big injection of energy, trailing Northern Illinois 13-7 at the break. The Offense was sputtering and the defense didn’t have any answers for the Huskies. That energy came from sophomore running back Jeremiyah Love.

A dynamic runner from St. Louis, Missouri, Love was one of the big stars from the team’s 23-13 victory over Texas A&M last weekend. During that contest, Love rushed for 91 yards and a touchdown on just 14 carries, averaging an impressive 6.5 yards per carry.

Love, who is an outstanding athlete, went up and over multiple defenders for a long touchdown to give the Irish a lead. Not only did you see the acceleration that Love possesses, but the springiness as an athlete. It was an impressive feat, seeming to defy gravity for a second.

After that long run, Love had accumulated 76 rushing yards and a touchdown, doing so on just 10 carries. Notre Dame needs as much positivity during the contest as possible. Love certainly provided it.
