It is set to be a very important month of June for 2026 Towson (Md.) Loyola Blakefield star cornerback Khary Adams. A priority for the Notre Dame staff, they are set to host him for an official visit on June 13-15.
Head coach Marcus Freeman and the Fighting Irish staff are in a major battle with a host of impressive suitors, including the Oregon Ducks, Penn State Nittany Lions, Michigan Wolverines, USC Trojans, and South Carolina Gamecocks. Adams is down in South Carolina this weekend for an official visit, and also took one to Auburn a couple of weeks ago.
As of today, this appears to be a Notre Dame versus Penn State battle mostly. There is optimism on both sides, but from everything I’ve been told, I believe the Nittany Lions hold a slight lead. It isn’t insurmountable, however, and it’s close enough where I believe that the Fighting Irish still have a strong chance.
Oregon is sort of the wildcard team in this battle, and you can’t count them out due to program prestige and NIL offerings. A source on that side has told me that it feels like a “long shot” right now, however. There is a substantial gap between the top two and the Ducks, and Notre Dame must keep it that way.
While there is some level of interest in both Michigan and USC, I just don’t think it’s enough. We will see if that changes, but as of today, this is a two-horse race with a third team continuing to try and keep pace.
The talented cover man will be checking out USC, Michigan, and Penn State this month officially before his trip to South Bend. The month will end with his official visit to Oregon on June 20-22. Adams and his family are going to be all over the place the next several weeks.
Notre Dame will have to make a strong push during their official visit. If they do, they will have a strong chance in the end.
Adams is considered a four-star player by each of the major recruiting platforms, and a top-100 overall player by multiple of them as well. He ranks highest by 247Sports, where the Maryland native currently ranks as the No. 36 overall player, No. 3 cornerback, and No. 4 player in the state of Maryland for the 2026 recruiting class. On the 247Sports Composite ranking, Adams is pegged as the No. 75 player in the class.
The 6-2, 175-pound cover man has been pursued by a long list of impressive programs. Some of his top offers include the Fighting Irish, Oregon, Michigan, LSU, Oklahoma, Tennessee, USC, Clemson, Miami, Florida State, Penn State, Auburn, South Carolina, Maryland, Michigan State, Kentucky, UNC, NC State, UCLA, Missouri, Virginia Tech, Arizona, Wisconsin, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Virginia, West Virginia, Minnesota, Boston College, Indiana, Georgia Tech, and Rutgers among several others.
As a junior, Adams was a tremendous two-way performer for Loyola Blakefield. On the defensive side of the football, Adams managed to record 43 total tackles, three interceptions, two tackles of loss, and two fumbles recoveries. He also hauled in 34 receptions for 562 yards and six touchdowns as a wide receiver for the team.
