We are in the dead period of the college football offseason, but the Notre Dame program has continued to prepare diligently behind the scenes. The program recently put out an updated 2025 roster, and there were some substantial takeaways to be had.

Outside of some number changes, there were also a lot of players that managed to put on a substantial amount of weight. Here are some of the biggest gains we have seen from this Fighting Irish squad. This has a chance to be the largest team we have seen in a long time.

WR Antavious “Scrap” Richardson

A high school quarterback, Richardson began his transition to wide receiver this spring. He showed up in South Bend at 169 pounds, but has already put on another 16 pounds. I wouldn’t expect the 6-0, 185-pound pass catcher to play a ton as a freshman, but his future is bright.

IOL Joe Otting

Once an undersized offensive line recruit out of the state of Kansas, Otting has put on another 15 pounds so far this offseason. He now stands at 6-4 and 312 pounds. There is a chance he could be the center of the future after Ashton Craig leaves.

OT Charles Jagusah

Jagusah cut down some before the spring, but has gained 13 pounds since then. The Illinois native is now standing at 6-7 and 331 pounds, and it’s a very solid 331 pounds. Now set to start at right guard, Jagusah has a chance to become a star if he can stay healthy.

S Ethan Long

Long is now the heaviest safety on the Notre Dame roster, standing at 6-3 and 211 pounds. This safety room is the deepest it has been in my lifetime. That is both in terms of talent and raw size.

EDGE Bryce Young

Young was already massive defensive end prior, and has still managed to put on another 13 pounds this offseason. At 6-7 and 273 pounds, this is a massive human being. It’s hard not to be excited for what the Irish legacy can accomplish.

LB Madden Faraimo

Don’t look now but Notre Dame has yet another talented linebacker. The California native has already put on 11 pounds, now standing at 6-2 and 235 pounds. With such deep linebacker room, there’s a chance that Faraimo may be related more to mop up duty, but he can be an outstanding player long term.

DL Cole Mullins

Cole Mullins has had an odd journey at Notre Dame so far. The staff moved him to defensive tackle last season despite him being undersized. They opted to play him more at defensive end this offseason, yet Mullins just added another 11 pounds. He now stands at 6-5 and 273 pounds.
