It feels like forever that Notre Dame has been recruiting, and prioritizing, 2025 Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy linebacker Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng. There is obviously a lot of appeal around the IMG star when you watch him play football, and admire the versatility that he brings to the table. Then you add in the fact that he is an Irish legacy, and that all but adds even more push to add him to the 2025 recruiting class.

Owusu-Boateng is the younger brother of former Notre Dame All-American linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, who is now a star for the Cleveland Browns. He was drafted by the Browns in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft, and has since become a standout. Owusu-Koramoah is coming off of his first Pro Bowl honor last season.

By all indications, his younger brother is very much cut from the same cloth. Owusu-Boateng will be taking a return visit to South Bend this weekend for their game against Florida State.

The 6-1, 205-pound defender is considered at least a four-star player by every major recruiting platform. He ranks highest by Rivals, where Owusu-Boateng is considered a five-star player. They have him pegged as the No. 19 overall player, No. 1 outside linebacker, and No. 4 player in the state of Maryland. ESPN also has him ranked as a top 100 player.

The offer list also matches the recruiting rankings for Owusu-Boateng. His offer list is elite, which is no surprise. Some of his top offers outside of Notre Dame include Georgia, Alabama, Texas, LSU, Oregon, Auburn, Oklahoma, Ohio State, Texas A&M, Florida State, Penn State, Michigan, Miami, USC, and Colorado among many others.

It has been an interesting recruiting process on the Notre Dame side with Owusu-Boateng. There was a time during this past offseason where it felt like he was set to make a decision, but opted to let the process play out inside. The Irish are still considered arguably the biggest front runner for the talented defender, but it could come down to just how well this visit goes with only a month away from national signing day.
