Notre Dame football could end up battling a very familiar foe for one of the fastest rising 2026 recruits

Notre Dame football made a very interesting offer back in late March when they extended a scholarship to 2026 Glenside (Pa.) La Salle College offensive tackle Grayson McKeogh. The 6-7, 275-pound offensive lineman is very new to the position, and was only ranked as a three-star player across the major recruiting platforms at that point. Despite that, he was a player that offensive line coach Joe Rudolph was very interested in from the jump.
Fast forward just a couple of weeks, and McKeogh has already risen tremendously from a rankings perspective. The Pennsylvania native now ranks as a four-star recruit on the 247Sports Composite ranking. That rating has him pegged as the No. 260 overall player, No. 22 offensive tackle, and No. 7 player in the state of Pennsylvania in the 2026 recruiting class.
McKeogh’s offer list has also continued to expand, and the demand has risen. Some of the top programs who have offered McKeogh includes the Fighting Irish, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Penn State, Missouri, Wisconsin, Michigan State, Pittsburgh, Indiana, Boston College, Syracuse, Northwestern, West Virginia, Rutgers, Duke, Wake Forest, USF, and Liberty.
After a recent visit to South Bend, things have been trending in a great direction. Notre Dame and Penn State have been viewed as the teams to beat for McKeogh. The latter is very interesting, specially since McKeogh is from Pennsylvania, and lives in a very pro Penn State area overall. His teammate, 2026 cornerback Joey O’Brien, is also down between the Fighting Irish and Nittany Lions.
One recent offer that could make some things interesting is the Buckeyes opting to offer this week. While it’s uncertain if Ohio State will be able to gain much traction with McKeogh, it appears the Fighting Irish could be fighting by once again against a familiar foe. That offer will be something to keep a close eye on.
From the Notre Dame perspective, their 2026 offensive line class is in a very good place. They already hold commitments from Tyler Merrill, Ben Nichols, Gregory Patrick, and Sullivan Garvin. That is a very strong four-man class, but they all do project better inside on the next level. There is interest in signing a true offensive tackle, and McKeogh is very much on the short list.
