When we talk about the best tight end producers in all of college football, the Notre Dame program is on a very short list. They have had a ton of tremendous tight ends come through over the years, including Tyler Eifert, Kyle Rudolph, Cole Kmet, Tommy Tremble, and Michael Mayer among others. In the 2026 recruiting class, the Irish are once again pursuing a talented list of players.
That includes Mt. Zion (Ill.) High School tight end JC Anderson, who has been on the Notre Dame radar for some time now. Having already been on campus several times, Anderson has set an official visit to return to campus. Anderson will be taking that official visit on June 19-21. He will also be taking official visits to Illinois (April 11-13), UNC (June 6-8), and Auburn (June 12-14).
If Notre Dame pushes hard, this one feels like it's theirs to lose. Anderson has a high opinion of the Irish program, is pretty local, and understands the full scope of what Notre Dame can offer.
Anderson is regarded as one of the top tight ends in the 2026 recruiting class. The 247Sports currently ranks him as the No. 107 overall player and No. 8 tight end in the class. That ranking also has Anderson pegged as the No. 3 player in the state of Illinois.
The offer list certainly matches the rankings for Anderson, with a long list of impressive programs pursuing him. Some of his top offers include the Fighting Irish, Oregon, Texas, Tennessee, USC, Texas A&M, Michigan, LSU, Florida, Ole Miss, Florida State, Penn State, Auburn, Nebraska, Michigan State, Louisville, Colorado, UNC, Arkansas, Iowa, Kansas, Pittsburgh, Minnesota, Missouri, Baylor, Cincinnati, Duke, Illinois, and Indiana among several others.
When you look at Anderson’s 6-6 and 230-pound frame, it’s easy to see why so many programs are high on him. As a junior, Anderson hauled in 47 receptions for 535 yards and seven touchdowns. Anderson was also a producer on the defensive side of the football, recording 58 total tackles, 5.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, and an interception.
