Notre Dame football has made several interesting offers in the 2026 recruiting class recently, which includes Frisco (Texas) Panther Creek safety Donovan Webb. Being this late in a recruitment is also interesting to watch. Webb is a safety who has been pursued by some heavy hitters, so naturally people will question the timing of this offer.
Despite being offered just last week, the Fighting Irish staff has been involved with Webb for some time now. Apparently there is clear interest on Webb’s side, having already scheduled an official visit to Notre Dame on June 20-22. It remains a question about just how much of a chance the Irish have, but this is certainly a good sign if Webb ends up making that trip.
The Texas native also has several other official visits scheduled for this offseason. Webb will be checking out Colorado (May 9-11), Kansas State (May 22-24), Ohio State (May 30-June 1), and Michigan (June 6-8).
Webb is considered to be a four-star recruit on the 247Sports Composite ranking, currently sitting as the No. 343 overall player, No. 29 safety, and No. 46 player in the state of Texas in the 2026 recruiting class. The On3 Industry ranking has him rated similarly, pegged as the No. 329 overall player and No. 34 safety in the class.
If those rankings don’t excite you about Webb, the offer list most likely will. Some of the top programs that have offered the Texas star so far include the Fighting Irish, Ohio State, Texas, Michigan, Oklahoma, Oregon, LSU, Tennessee, Ole Miss, USC, Texas A&M, Nebraska, Auburn, Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas State, TCU, Houston, Pittsburgh, Purdue, Arizona, Baylor, Texas Tech, Minnesota, and Vanderbilt among others.
The 6-0, 180-pound safety was a dynamic player for Panther Creek as a junior. Webb managed to collect 120 total tackles, five interceptions, nine pass breakups, and two forced fumbles. He also rushed for 172 yards and a touchdown while averaging 9.1 yards per carry. Webb also had two punt returns for touchdowns, showcasing his three-way impact on the high school level.
