4-star cornerback Elbert Hill has been a priority for the Ohio State Buckeyes as they look to keep a fence around their state. The Akron product has been courted by more than two dozen schools and has visited the Buckeyes, but he curiously left Ryan Day's program off his official visit list this summer.

Hill was able to visit the Buckeyes this past weekend ahead of trips to LSU, USC, Oregon, and Alabama this summer. The No. 4-ranked cornerback said he had an "amazing time" with defensive backs coach Tim Walton and Day before expanding on his interest in Ohio State.

“So I know everybody’s been asking this, but Ohio State is still pretty high in my recruitment."

“Me and Coach Walton, our relationship has been so good,” Hill told On3. “He’s been recruiting me since going into my sophomore year. So like, it’s just been great between our relationship, man.”

“Really, I’m just from Ohio and I’ve been to Ohio State a lot of times. I really just have a great relationship with them and I know what I’m getting from them guys. I know Coach Walt. He’s a great coach. He can really do a lot for me.

“As for where me and Coach Walton stands, we just, we stand very well,” he added.

Ultimately, Hill feels he's so comfortable with Ohio State that he didn't need to burn one of his limited out-of-state visits on his nearby Buckeyes. He knows Ohio State has shown him lots of love, and now his recruitment is about seeing if anyone else out there can beat the Buckeyes.

“It comes down to who is pushing the hardest and where I feel I can stay and be happy,” Hill said. “My list right now is jumbled up and it hard to see what is going to happen right now. I just want to find the best place for me.”

Hill plays for Archbishop Hoban, the No. 4-ranked team in the state.
