The Ohio State Buckeyes already made history on the field this past college football season as they won the inagural 12-team College Football Playoff. Their era-defining trek through Tennessee, Texas, and Notre Dame can never be tainted or discounted, but merely built upon.
Entering the 2024-25 season, the Buckeyes seemed to have a decent chance of breaking one NFL draft record that has never been matched. The Georgia Bulldogs broke Ohio State's and LSU's tie for the most players drafted from one school in a single draft in 2022. They racked up 15 selections.
The Buckeyes had 16 or 17 draftable players on its roster this past season, but those numbers were always going to be dependent on everyone playing well and declaring for the draft. Losing even one, like cornerback Davison Igbinosun, hurt Ohio State's chances significantly.
In our latest 7-round 2025 NFL mock draft, the Buckeyes tied Georgia's record with 15 players selected. Here's everyone who was drafted, where they were projected, and their overall selection taken.
- 22) Los Angeles Chargers: Emeka Egbuka, WR, Ohio State
- 30) Buffalo Bills: TreVeyon Henderson, RB, Ohio State
- 33) Cleveland Browns: Quinshon Judkins, RB, Ohio State
- 37) Las Vegas Raiders: Donovan Jackson, OG, Ohio State
- 38) New England Patriots: Josh Simmons, OT, Ohio State
- 39) Chicago Bears: Jack Sawyer, EDGE, Ohio State
- 54) Green Bay Packers: Tyleik Williams, DT, Ohio State
- 76) Dallas Cowboys: J.T. Tuimoloau, EDGE, Ohio State
- 91) Baltimore Ravens: Lathan Ransom, SAF, Ohio State
- 122) Denver Broncos: Seth McLaughlin, OC, Ohio State
- 141) Tennessee Titans: Ty Hamilton, DT, Ohio State
- 145) New York Jets: Denzel Burke, CB, Ohio State
- 151) Indianapolis Colts: Will Howard, QB, Ohio State
- 177) Buffalo Bills: Jordan Hancock, CB, Ohio State
- 207) New York Jets: Cody Simon, LB, Ohio State
The only two draft-eligible Buckeyes who did not hear their names called are tight end Gee Scott Jr. and right tackle Josh Fryar. Either getting selected would be a surprise, though Scott has a better chance of the two.
Tying Georgia's record would still be incredibly impressive. Ohio State's best overall players, Jeremiah Smith and Caleb Downs, aren't draft-eligible, so it's not as if this mass departure completely stole the program's identity and overall talent.
