When it comes to the safer prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft class, you won’t find many higher floors than Ohio State wide receiver Emeka Egbuka. If not for an injury-riddled 2023 season, there is a good chance Egbuka would have been a part of last year’s class. Fortunately for the Buckeyes, they were able to retain Egbuka and watch him rewrite the record books.

In 49 games for Ohio State, Egbuka was able to haul in 205 receptions for 2,868 yards and 24 touchdowns. He also added another 145 yards and two scores on the ground, while also being a stellar kick returner as a freshman.

Egbuka was able to play with some outstanding quarterbacks during his career, including CJ Stroud, Will Howard, and Kyle McCord. He knows what good quarterbacks look like. It was only natural that he was asked about quarterbacks at the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine.

During the media availability, Egbuka was asked to rank his top signal callers currently in the NFL. He had a pretty standard list, but one unique entry.

"I would say Patrick Mahomes because he is doing it at a level where (Tom) Brady did it once," Egbuka said. "He is trying to chase him, which is really cool. I am a huge (Seattle) Seahawks so growing up my entire life, Russell Wilson was our guy. He is awesome. Another pick would be Josh Allen. You know, MVP. He is doing everything the right way right now."

Egbuka was admittedly a little bit biased, even if he would like to try and say otherwise. Most people would agree that both Mahomes and Allen are right at the top of the list. Including Wilson is so 2020.
