The Ohio State Buckeyes have had a lot of roster shuffling this transfer portal season

Ohio State has had around 30 players exit the program to hit the portal — and they’ve taken a hit in the wide receiver room specifically. Ohio State will have a different wide receiver group around Jeremiah Smith and Brandon Inniss next year. They’re not quite done making additions yet either.

Ohio State is interested in experienced small school wide receiver in the portal

The Buckeyes are showing interest in former Kennesaw State WR Christian Moss, according to 247 Sports. Other schools interested in the wideout with one year of eligibility remaining are Kansas, Stanford, and Washington.

Moss had a breakout year in 2025 with 45 catches, 689 receiving yards, and two touchdowns in 14 games. The 6-foot-3 wideout got his start at Virginia Tech in 2022 when he made six catches for 72 yards as a true freshman. Moss did not play in 2023 before transferring to Kennesaw State for the 2024 season.

Ohio State can use the added depth at wide receiver

The Buckeyes have made one addition already with former UTSA WR Devin McCuinn — who will bring explosiveness to the offense. Ohio State lost both Mylan Graham and Quincy Porter to the transfer portal. Both players were expected to be a part of the depth in Columbus in 2026 with the path to get on the field potentially.

Ohio State will bring in star true freshman Chris Henry Jr. and he’s likely to start opposite Smith at wide receiver with Inniss in the slot. Past that, the Buckeyes will be relying on Phillip Bell — and true freshmen like Jerquaden Guilford and Brock Boyd to provide depth.
