The Ohio State Buckeyes know they'll need backfield help after TreVeyon Henderson and Quinshon Judkins finish their careers over the next few weeks. While still looking at trench players and defensive backs, the Buckeyes haven't forgotten about running backs. After hosting USC tailback Quinten Joyner, the Buckeyes have reached out to Army's Kanye Udoh.
Udoh shared the news on his Instagram, and he's set to visit a host of other interested schools in the coming days. The sophomore rusher totaled 1,117 yards and 10 touchdowns this season.
Averaging 6.2 yards per carry, Udoh has quickly become a top playmaker target for several elite programs. Missouri, North Carolina, SMU, and Arizona State have visits set. Ohio State might need to act quickly.
Ohio State primed to steal explosive running back from Big Ten rival via transfer portal
The Ohio State Buckeyes are looking to make several splashes in the transfer portal as they build their 2025 roster. With TreVeyon Henderson and Quinshon Judkins entering the final games of their Buckeyes career, Ryan Day's offense could use a veteran presence or two. According to sources, former USC running back Quinten Joyner is at […]
Ohio State played James Peoples 85 snaps this fall as he gave Henderson and Judkins an occasional break. Despite looking good, there is some concern about whether he'll be more than a secondary option in a strong backfield. Udoh would be a more natural fit than forcing a freshman into the lead role.
4-stars Bo Jackson and Anthony Rogers are terrific talents, and honestly, I think 3-star Isaiah West has the goods to help the offense as well. Jackson, at 205 pounds, has the profile of a lead workhorse, but is that too much to ask right away?
"I have made the decision to enter the NCAA transfer portal,'' Udoh said in his post. "This has not been an easy choice, as my time at Army has been incredibly rewarding, both on and off the field. I've learned and grown in ways I could never have anticipated when I first joined the program, and I am deeply grateful for the opportunities and experiences I've had here.''
All West Point students in their freshman and sophomore years have the option to transfer out of the Academy. However, once cadets attend their first day of classes in junior year, they are committed to the school and their obligation to military service.
