Coming out of their second bye week, the Ohio State Buckeyes are 5-1 and their most recent game was a 32–31 loss to Oregon. The Buckeyes have everything in front of them that they hope to accomplish still with the one loss and the path starts back up with Nebraska on Saturday.

Ohio State is 2-1 in Big Ten play and is behind the likes of Oregon, Indiana, Penn State, Illinois, and Wisconsin. As more games are played teams will play each other and the Buckeyes will continue to work their way near the top as long as they win. One team that has caught the eye is Indiana.

The Buckeyes have to take the Indiana Hoosiers seriously

Indiana is a serious football team this season and they just showed the entire country that by dismantling Nebraska 56-7 this past Saturday. While the two teams will play in late November, surely no one in Columbus thought that game would have a lot of meaning.

Ohio State very well could be playing a 10-0 Indiana play in Columbus on Nov. 23 a week before hosting Michigan. Quarterback Kurtis Rourke has 15 touchdowns to three interceptions and is passing for 277 yards a game. The Hoosiers have one of the best offenses in all of the country this season and are putting up 519 yards of offense every Saturday.

Ohio State has to take it week by week. This schedule is a bit tougher overall with the improvement by Indiana. Coming into the season it was known that Oregon, Penn State, and Michigan would all be tough games.

Oregon ended up beating Ohio State and the two sides could play again. Ohio State has to travel to Penn State in a couple of weeks and that one is going to be tough. Michigan has taken a pretty big step back this year and Indiana may end up a tougher matchup than the Wolverines in the end.

Ohio State is going to be tested a lot down the road in Big Ten play and it is fair to expect Indiana to be one of those tests. The job that Curt Cignetti has done with the Hoosiers should have the eyes of all Big Ten teams.
