A year after only having three players drafted in the 2024 NFL Draft, the Oklahoma Sooners will once again hit that number in the 2025 NFL Draft.

The Sooners are only sending three players to the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine. All three of these players come on the defensive side of the ball. Three players drafted in back-to-back years would be the lowest total for Oklahoma since they had just two players drafted in 2000 and 2001.

Here are the three Sooners who received invites to the 2025 NFL Combine:

  • SAF Billy Bowman Jr.
  • EDGE Ethan Downs
  • LB Danny Stutsman

This should be an event that Billy Bowman crushes. His elite speed and quickness have made him a terrific playmaker for the Sooners' secondary over his career. I wouldn't be shocked to see him be one of the top testers in the entire defensive back group. If he measures in big enough with his slight frame, expect him to be a winner from the Combine.

The Combine will be a big test for Ethan Downs that could determine where he gets selected. He has mostly Day 3 grades from teams with his terrific motor, run defense, and intangibles, but there are some question marks about just how good of an athlete he really is. A big day in Indianapolis could see Downs cement himself as a top-125/150 selection in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Danny Stutsman faces similar question marks about his athleticism. However, after skipping the Senior Bowl due to injury, Stutsman will have to pass the medical checks that the other two Sooners don't have to worry about. Stutsman has battled injuries in multiple seasons, but it's hard to deny his impact for the Sooners. It would be a safe bet to imagine he is the first Oklahoma player drafted this year as long as his medicals check out.
