Oklahoma Sooners now have an official date on their calendar to prep for one of their more coveted recruits in 2026 class

Getting the Oklahoma Sooners back to the days of competing for the playoffs won't be as easy as you think it will despite the playoffs being easier to make now with 12 teams being in the pool. In fact, the football program is going through a ton right now, and head coach Brent Venables is obviously on the hot seat, only one thing will change that — a big-time winning season.
To do that the Sooners have to reinvent who they are, and they have to do that with Ben Arbuckle as their new offensive coordinator. With his style of offense, the Sooners need to build through the trenches, specifically on the offensive line, an area that was terrible for the Sooners last season.
John Mateer, the former Washington State quarterback that Arbuckle basically brought with him to Norman, needs a good offensive line to have him at his full potential. If the Sooners trot out the same offensive line they did last season, that just won't happen, and the offense will be bad. And in the SEC. We all know what happens when you have a bad offense — even an elite defense can't save you.
So, the Sooners are hitting the recruiting trail for 2026 after finishing up their 2025 class. In June, they have a very important player coming to visit them, a guy that is pretty highly coveted.
Sooners schedule an official visit with Desmond Green
Desmond Green is a four-star offensive lineman from Timberland High School in Saint Stephen, South Carolina, and a top prospect for the 2026 recruiting class. At 6'5" and 345 pounds, he has the size, strength, and technique to excel on the offensive line.
Green has received offers from top schools like Georgia, Clemson, Alabama, Florida, Oklahoma, and USC. Georgia seems to be leading the pack after his visit in January 2025, but he's still considering visits to Virginia Tech, Oklahoma, Florida, and USC.
Beyond football, Green is committed to his academic work and personal development. His recruitment is about finding the right fit for his growth both on and off the field. Green will visit the Sooners June 6-8.

The Sooners would love to have him.
