The Oklahoma Sooners did not have a season up to their standards. It was about to be their worst season in 26 years, but luckily, with a huge win over the Alabama Crimson Tide, they extended their bowl game streak to 26 years in a row. And while a bowl game is cool and all, this season certainly had the feeling of one that just wasn't good at all.

Some players may have the feeling that they wasted a year of eligibility on this last year. And, that's fair. Some players didn't play much, even when the Sooners probably could have used that spark. There were also players that just really had a bad year overall, like Jackson Arnold, who we all wish well as he enters the transfer portal.

Having a bad year, a change at offensive coordinator, and a new, talented class coming in — you can always expect some players to enter the transfer portal. And, the Sooners have already had their fair share. But, they have taken a hit at one of their strongest position groups for the 2025 season.

Going into 2025, it was thought that the Sooners were going to have an amazing running back room, with Taylor Tatum, Xavier Robinson, Sam Franklin, and others. But, that room just took a massive hit as they have now lost two good running backs to the transfer portal.

The first one was Kalib Hicks, who is 5’11", 215 pounds and still has three years of eligibility remaining. Hicks was a four-star recruit in the 2023 class.

Then was Emeka Megwa, who is 6'1", 225 pounds, and a four-star recruit with three years left as well. Both of these guys surely won't have a hard time finding a team where they can take their talents.
