The Oklahoma Sooners are getting busy with their 2026 class, finally starting to string together some wins. Now, wins don't always mean recruits that they have landed as commitments, but just recruits that they really want, and have gotten closer to getting.
Their current class only has six commits, with two of them being offensive weapons in four-star wide receiver Daniel Odom and three-star tight end Ryder Mix. Adding some more weapons for whoever the quarterback would be next season would be super ideal.
So, they are closing in on one more guy, and this guy could possibly play as a freshman.
Sooners land in top ten for 2026 WR Jordan Clay
Jordan Clay, a four-star wide receiver from James Madison High School in San Antonio, Texas, is one of the top wide receiver prospects in the 2026 class. At 6'4" and 205 pounds, he’s a big, fast, and versatile playmaker, and may already have the size and frame to play at the college level. Clay is ranked a top-100 national recruit by On3 and No. 7 wide receiver by Rivals.
He has over 24 D1 offers and recently narrowed his list to 10 schools, including Texas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Notre Dame, Baylor, and Colorado. He’s scheduled official visits to Oklahoma, Baylor, and Colorado in June 2025.
Oklahoma is a strong contender, with receivers coach Emmett Jones building a close connection and emphasizing the program’s culture. His size, skill, and approach to the game make him a highly sought-after recruit. The Sooners want him, but it's up to Clay where he wants to go.
As of right now, the Sooners are waiting on a potential commitment from Norman WR Mason James, and they are also emerging as a top candidate to land a TE recruit. So, adding Clay to that with what they already have for the 2026 class could be something special.
Clay could be a special player, and they hope he is in Crimson and Cream.
2026 4-star running back committed to Oklahoma Sooners just got a very enticing offer from SEC foe
That would be a crazy flip.
