With Florida firing head coach Billy Napier, the ripple effects across college football could open the door for one of the most intriguing potential reunions of the offseason – a return of five-star receiver Dallas Wilson to the Oregon Ducks.

A return to the Ducks?

Wilson, a Tampa Bay native, was a cornerstone of Oregon’s 2025 recruiting class. He had been committed to the Ducks for nearly two years and even signed with Oregon on National Signing Day in December 2024. However, weeks later, Wilson asked to be released from his letter of intent, ultimately signing with Florida so he could stay closer to home.

Now, less than a year later, the situation in Gainesville has shifted dramatically. Napier’s dismissal leaves the Gators in transition, and with the program’s future uncertain, Oregon should absolutely explore whether Wilson might be interested in a fresh start out west.

Wilson’s performance this fall has lived up to his five-star billing. After missing the first few games with a minor foot injury, the freshman exploded in Florida’s 29-21 upset win over No. 9 Texas on October 4, 2025. In that breakout performance, Wilson caught six passes for 111 yards and two touchdowns, showcasing his elite route running, physicality, and ability to make plays in clutch moments. It was one of the best freshman debuts in program history, and it quickly established Wilson as one of the most exciting young receivers in the SEC.

For Oregon, the appeal of bringing Wilson back is obvious. At 6’3” and 213 pounds, he possesses the size, speed, and body control that fit perfectly in the Ducks’ offensive system. Even more exciting is the potential pairing with fellow five-star receiver Dakorien Moore, who is already in Eugene as part of the same recruiting class. The duo could instantly form one of the most electrifying wide-receiver tandems in the country next season – a blend of Wilson’s power and Moore’s explosiveness that would give Oregon an offense few could match.

Wilson’s original connection to Oregon, his proven production, and Florida’s uncertain direction make this an opportunity the Ducks shouldn’t overlook. If Oregon can convince Wilson to come back, it wouldn’t just be a reunion – it could be the move that elevates the Ducks’ passing game to national-championship caliber.
