Maybe that’s too small.
Could it draw 14 million?
Right now, the most-watched Texas game of the season was the Georgia matchup in mid-October. It drew 13.19 million viewers while the Texas-Michigan game came in second at 9.19 million viewers.

The setup is spectacular for a huge ratings number. The Longhorns (10-1, 6-1 SEC) and Aggies (8-3, 5-2) are playing in prime time on ABC on an extended holiday weekend. It’s also the first time they’ve played since 2011. The winner advances to the SEC championship game to face Georgia.
Safe to say Dawgs fans all over Georgia will be watching.
A&M coach Mike Elko remembered how the game used to be played on Thanksgiving night then shifted to Fridays. “It was always its isolated time slot,” Elko said. “Then you started watching and you started kind of seeing the pageantry of it, and then it kind of became almost a must-watch for a while.”
Texas coach Steve Sarkisian grew up in California but watched this rivalry from afar, too. His team has won 10 straight true road games, though. It’s the longest road winning streak in the nation.
“We all know Kyle Field is a very loud stadium,” Sarkisian said. “They’ve got it got a great fan base, and we’ve seen teams go there and get impacted by the crowd noise. I think one of the keys to that is our poise and composure on the road.”
