Now that the NFL Combine is behind us, it's time to identify which star prospects are top potential targets for teams as the NFL Draft approaches. After spending the entire week in Indianapolis talking with 50+ players, and 30+ NFL team staff members it's time to talk through some of the top rising stars and which teams likely draft them. Today, we're talking Xavier Worthy, WR Texas.

For several weeks leading up to the NFL Combine Xavier Worthy had been dropping into the early second round of mock drafts, but after setting a new record in the forty-yard dash with a time of 4.21 seconds he'll almost definitely be going inside round one. And although some mock drafts this week have slotted him in at pick 32 to the Chiefs, based on what I'm learning there's no way he makes it to them.

But before we dive into the surprising teams targeting Worthy, here's the best angle of his record-setting forty-yard dash that highlights the eruption from the crowd at Lucas Oil Stadium, in case you missed it.

When I spoke personally with Xavier Worthy at the NFL Combine he shared that he met with several teams during the week, but dug deeper into details with a few teams in particular. He spoke highly of his time with the Bills, Cowboys, Packers, and the Colts based on his formal interviews.

All four teams already have decent lead receivers, or at the very least cheaper depth at the position (the Packers), but it sounded like all four would be in play to select him in round one.

He talked through growing up in the same part of California as Josh Allen, and how his offense at Texas would make him a great fit with the Bills' scheme. Then he talked up CeeDee Lamb and how impressed he was with what the Cowboys do on offense.

His Packers and Colts fits may not sound like they make the most sense on the surface given that Green Bay has three young receivers already under cheap rookie contracts, and Indianapolis just franchise tagged Michael Pittman. However, he did say both meetings were incredibly promising.

The sleeper team to watch might be the most surprising of all. The Jacksonville Jaguars. I've been talking about Xavier Worthy with Jaguars staffers for multiple years now and with Calvin Ridley likely departing, keep an eye on Jacksonville to select him with their 17th overall pick.

All of the top formal meetings Worthy mentioned have picks ranging from 15 to 28 in the first round. After that none of them pick again until at least 41. If your favorite NFL team hopes to grab Xavier Worthy it looks like they'll need to find themselves in the middle of the first round to make sure they get their guy.
