The running back group for the 2026 recruiting class is a very deep and talented assortment of players. One of the more physically gifted runners in the class is Jackson (Al.) High School star Ezavier Crowell. The Alabama native has been pursued by a long list of premier programs, trying to get the dynamic weapon to be a part of their respective program.

Crowell announced on Thursday that he has set a commitment date for June 26th according to Hayes Fawcett from On3. He will be choosing between Alabama, Auburn, Texas, Georgia, and Florida State. Crowell is now without some incredible options.

Crowell is considered a consensus four-star recruit by every major recruiting platform. The 247Sports Composite ranking currently has Crowell rated as the No. 33 overall player, No. 2 running back, and No. 3 player in Alabama for the 2026 recruiting class. He has the exact same ranking on the On3 Industry ranking, which speaks to the consistent opinion of Crowell by everyone in the industry.

The offer list is as impressive as the rankings for Crowell. Some of the top programs that have offered Crowell include Texas, Georgia, Alabama, Ohio State, Michigan, Oregon, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, USC, Miami, Penn State, Auburn, South Carolina, Florida State, Florida, Nebraska, UNC, Arkansas, Colorado, Arizona, Mississippi State, Washington, Virginia, Georgia Tech, UCF, and Purdue among many others.

Over the last two years, Crowell has been unreal for Jackson High School. During the span, he has rushed for 3,701 yards and 56 touchdowns while allowing over 11 yards per carry. The 5-11, 210-pound runner also hauled in another 20 receptions for 470 yards and six touchdowns, an impressive 23.5 yards per catch average.

While it won’t be easy to get Crowell out of Alabama, the Longhorns are putting themselves in a very good spot down the stretch. They are viewed as a wildcard right now, but that could change drastically. According to sources on that side, they believe they are in a good spot with a real fighter’s chance.
