While the level doesn’t get the attention it quite deserves, the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) plays outstanding football. Every year we see FCS programs play “up a level” and pull out upsets of various FBS programs, and we have already seen that several times this season. These teams, players, and coaches all need more coverage.

As a voter for the Stats Perform FCS Top 25 Poll, that’s my mission. While most college football fans crowd their favorite streaming service for the big name program games of the week, not enough attention is given to all levels.

Here is my latest Top 25 Poll for the FCS. We are beginning to get into conference action, which means that teams are going to begin separating themselves quickly. After the South Dakota State Jackrabbits were the dominant force on the level the last two seasons, there does appear to be a much higher level of parity this fall.

There is a top group that is defining itself, but things certainly do feel very wide open. This could make for one of the more entertaining seasons of FCS football we have seen over the past couple of years. Who knows what Week Five will bring.
