8 Lions to watch against the Giants

Just like Boyz II Men once said, "tonight is your night." Some say they were talking about something completely different, but I'm pretty sure it was Detroit Lions football that they were talking about. The Lions are back tonight!
Well, sort of. Tonight the Lions will play their first fake football game of the year against the New York Giants. This is a big one. Even if the starters barely play or don't play at all. Tonight we get some answers on a lot of players. We also get to see some guys that we haven't seen yet if you haven't been to camp.
Here's eight players that we're going to have our eyes glued to on Friday night.
Jameson Williams

Lions Head Coach Dan Campbell told us that Jameson Williams will be doused in pre-Season reps this year after missing out on last seasons pre-season due to recovering from an ACL injury he suffered at Alabama. Just how much of those reps will happen on Friday night?
If the starters come out there, will Williams stay on after they all go and sit and take passes form Nate Sudfeld? Will we see some electric plays from Williams? There's a lot of questions because this will most likely be the most game time we've seen Williams in since he was drafted.
Dylan Drummond

We’ve heard so much about this Dylan Drummond kid. Unless you’ve been at camp, it’s all been just stories up to this point. Tonight we get to see Drummond put on the jersey and go out there and show what he’s got. It might be the biggest night of this kids life. Can he finish the story?
Also, something to keep an eye on with him is to watch to see if the Lions put him out as a kick returner at all. The Lions tried him back there on Wednesday for the first time. Now that Justin Jackson is gone, someone needs to fill that role.
Jahmyr Gibbs

How much of Jahmyr Gibbs will we see tonight? If the Lions do trot out their starters, it’ll likely only be for one drive. Will they work Gibbs into that drive? If Gibbs stays out, how long will he do so? Will we see some of that explosive speed? Will he put up a highlight? Questions!
Graham Glasgow

The Lions right guard spot is still up for grabs. The team has had both Glasgow and Halapulivaati Vaitai running reps with the first team. I personally think that it’s Glasgow’s job. We’ll see how he performs with the Lions on Friday night. We might get some answers if the Lions bring out their starters. Who will be at right guard when they do so?
Mohamed Ibrahim

Now that Justin Jackson is retired, that running back three spot is wide open. Ibrahim was one of my favorite undrafted rookies that the Lions cooped up after the draft, but he’s been pretty quiet at camp. He should see plenty of reps on Friday night. This is his chance to put his best foot forward and start making his way towards making the Lions 53 man roster.
Benny Snell

I don’t know if we’ll see any of Benny Snell on Friday night. The Lions just brought him in on Thursday and he hasn’t practiced with the team. We haven’t heard any word on whether or not he’ll play yet, but if he does, he’s a threat to every running back out there that’s looking to grab that running back three spot.
Snell is a down hill runner that runs the ball similar to Maurice Jones-Drew. At least that's his style of running. He hasn't put up MJD type numbers. The Steelers liked him enough to keep him around for four years. They just had some many players in front of him. This could be a steal of a signing.
Starling Thomas V

Drummond isn’t the only undrafted rookie that could make the Lions 53 man roster. Thomas might actually have the better odds if we’re being honest. He has been a sight to see at camp. He’s out there playing like a guy who’s going into his second season as opposed to an undrafted rookie who might not make it. On Friday night we’ll get to see what he can do against another NFL team.
Brodric Martin

The Lions moved heaven and earth to make sure they could move up to get Martin. On Friday night we get to see what Brad Holmes saw. From what we know of Martin at camp, he’s still raw, but is coming along. He shows a really impressive burst coming off the line for a guy of his size. He hand work is pretty nice too. We’ll see if he can make a play or two against the Giants.
